Pacific leadership Institute
Equipping & Mobilizing for Church Planting, Global Missions and Social Justice
Pacific leadership Institute
Pacific Leadership Institute is a 6-month in-resident Christian leadership and equipping training school located in Oceanside California in north San Diego county operating in partnership with Vineyard North San Diego and Grace Chapel of the Coast. The school is focused on equipping followers of Jesus in Kingdom ministry. The school has 3 concentration areas:
Church Planting, Global Missions, Social Justice.
Pacific Leadership Institute is focused on equipping followers of Jesus with knowledge, skills and opportunity to learn and grow in the gifting and calling God has for each individual. Our goal is to make followers who are ready and equipped for service when opportunity comes.
The school has it’s roots in the Vineyard Ranch from the 80s and 90s, where hundreds of young Jesus followers from around the globe were equipped and sent out to change their world. As a result of those days, many new churches were started in numerous countries, even marking the beginning of the Vineyard movement in Australia, the Netherlands, the Nordic countries and most notably, Russia, as many of the Ranch students joined with their fellow students for mission outreach to Siberia, resulting in the launch of a movement of churches there.
In 2015, the Lord spoke to Jim Mumper, the former Pastor and Director of the Vineyard Ranch, that it was time for a new generation of leaders to be equipped and mobilized for church planting, global missions and social justice.
3 MAIN FOCUS AREAS
for those who may sense a call to church planting. Students in this track will learn church planting essentials, and will have the opportunity to create
a community of new followers as an ongoing hands-on ministry.
for those who have a heart for serving God in the nations. Students will learn and experience what it takes to live out the highest calling in another culture with the skills necessary to
serve overseas long-term.
for those who have a passion for the poor and victims of social injustice.
Students will have the opportunity to envision new programs for finding
sustainable solutions to these problems.
The curriculum is divided between core and concentration. All students will go through the core curriculum, which includes courses offered through Vineyard Institute, as well as specialized teaching from all 3 of the concentrations. Each student will choose their concentration track and will then have deeper teaching and outreach in that particular concentration. The teaching, both core and concentration, will include practical application “in the field”. Some of our classes taught at the school will qualify for transfer credit at an accredited institution.
When is the Session?
January 4th to June 30th 2017 – 6 months
WHY SHOULD I GO?
The school is for anyone who wants to explore what God may have for them. You sense a calling to ministry, and perhaps you know what you want to do, but sense the need to be equipped and mobilized. You could be a great candidate! You want to be used by God, but don't know where. We explore lots of different ministries and ways of doing ministries to give our students broad exposure to "Missio Dei" - the Mission of God in the world. Our target student is between the ages of 20 and 35, although we can accept students from 18 and on up to 60+. International participants welcome.
The school is located in beautiful Oceanside, California, in North San Diego county.
We are fortunate to be located in an area where amazing teachers and trainers abound. Our teachers are experts in their field, with a proven track record, and will be sharing their lives and wisdom in a relaxed school atmosphere designed for give and take feedback and for building relationships with the students. In addition, with our broad network internationally, we have the opportunity of hearing
from some great leaders from other countries as well.
The cost to attend Pacific Leadership Institute is $6000 US Dollars for the entire six months. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due by November 1, 2016 to hold your space. Space is limited. The fee covers tuition, room and board, local and regional outreach and transportation costs.
What is not covered in the fees are personal items, personal recreation on free days, personal transportation, ie. to and from the school site, 3-week outreach costs to Nicaragua. To cover the costs for the outreach to Nicaragua, we will be learning some fund-raising practices to help us fund our travel and outreach costs there.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE SIX MONTH PROGRAM IS OVER?
Upon completion of the 6-month program, students will have the opportunity to connect with our global network of churches and mission ministries for an internship. Our network is extensive and it is truly global
Upon completion of our program, we have many places for our graduating students to be deployed to, depending on the student's individual gifting, calling and chosen concentration at the school. Our contacts are truly global, and we currently have agreements with churches and ministries in 30 nations where we would be able to send teams or individuals to serve.
